Criminal Charges Against Dr. Ghasemzadeh
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ghasemzadeh on July 27, 2026, and he now faces multiple felony charges connected to two former patients.
The Allegations
One patient alleged that during a July 2026 appointment, Ghasemzadeh used an ultrasound probe and his finger to examine her without a legitimate medical purpose or her consent. A second patient alleged that during a June 2025 echocardiogram appointment, Ghasemzadeh made sexually suggestive comments and touched her chest without consent. Both patients reported the incidents to their respective primary care providers shortly after the appointments. Ghasemzadeh faces the following charges:
- Rape.
- Sexual battery.
- Gross sexual imposition.
Arraignment and Bond
Ghasemzadeh pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on July 30, 2026. A judge set his bond at $700,000 and ordered him to surrender his passport, avoid leaving Ohio, and have no contact with the two patients named in the complaint. Shortly after the arraignment, Ghasemzadeh posted bond and is currently out of custody.
Medical License Suspension
The Ohio State Medical Board suspended Ghasemzadeh’s medical license on July 31, 2026. According to the board’s sexual misconduct policy, this type of suspension is used only when there is clear and convincing evidence that continued practice poses a danger of immediate and serious harm to the public.
Authorities Are Seeking Additional Victims
The Brown County Prosecutor’s Office has stated that close to 10 additional potential victims had come forward as of late July 2026, and that those reports remain under investigation.
