Juvenile Female Secure Care and Intake Facility Sex Abuse Lawsuit
Video Transcript
The Juvenile Female Secure Care and Intake Facility in Boarding Town, New Jersey, has faced hundreds of allegations of sexual abuse. Survivors alleged staff members exploited and assaulted the young girls detained by the facility for decades, often in exchange for certain privileges, while the state failed to stop the abuse. In May 2025, the New Jersey Supreme Court consolidated more than 350 lawsuits against this facility and other state-run juvenile detention centers. Recent criminal charges against former officers highlights a longstanding culture of misconduct and neglect.
