Video Transcript

Today, we are discussing the serious allegations against the well-known fashion retailer, Abercrombie & Fitch, and its former CEO, Michael Jeffries, along with rights and options for those impacted.

Michael Jeffries, once the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, is currently facing several criminal charges filed by the Eastern District of New York.

He stands accused of operating a sex trafficking ring, with allegations including coercing vulnerable men into commercial sex acts across various international locations from approximately 2008 to 2015.

These criminal charges came after an investigation by the BBC and dozens of men joining a class action lawsuit against Abercrombie and Fitch alongside Jeffries and his business partner, Matthew Smith related to the sexual abuse allegations.

The class action lawsuit alleges that Jeffries and Smith sexually assaulted and exploited dozens of individuals while leadership at Abercrombie and Fitch was aware of the abuse and turned a blind eye.

The law firm representing these individuals believe there could be over 100 victims – most being young men who thought they were going to be hired as models for the company and then faced sexual assault and exploitation.

If you were ever impacted by the actions of Michael Jeffries, Matthew Smith, or others at Abercrombie and Fitch, you have legal rights and options.

We know how hard it is for men to come forward as they are often dismissed when discussing sexual abuse.

But you deserve help and healing – and we are here to explain your rights and options.

If you experienced any incidents of groping, inappropriate touching, forced masturbation, forced oral sex, or any other forced sexual acts, you have legal rights and options.

First, you can report to law enforcement as there is an ongoing investigation into Michael Jeffries and he could face additional criminal charges.

You may also be able to participate in the existing class action lawsuit or file an additional civil lawsuit against Jeffries and any relevant third parties including the company Abercrombie and Fitch.

A civil lawsuit allows you to seek monetary compensation for the harm you experienced. While no amount of money can heal what happened to you, you can seek justice and accountability.

Your ability to file a civil lawsuit or participate in the existing class action may depend on when and where the incident took place as there are statutes of limitations, or time limits, on the ability to file a claim.

This is why speaking to an experienced attorney as soon as possible is critical. If you have been impacted, we can put you in touch with a lawyer who can help you understand your rights and the process involved.

They offer free consultations and if you choose to move forward, they will represent you on contingency meaning there are no upfront costs to pursuing a claim.

We are here to help you understand your rights so you can be informed and empowered.
