Costello Prep Community Home Sex Abuse Lawsuit
Video Transcript
Costello Prep, a residential community home in Tabernacle, New Jersey, was designed to help boys and young men overcome substance abuse. But behind its mission, survivors now allege a hidden culture of sexual abuse by staff members. In 2024, multiple former residents filed lawsuits against the state, alleging Costello Prep staff groomed, bribed, and assaulted youth while oversight agencies turned a blind eye. These cases are now part of a larger multi-county litigation involving more than 350 survivors of abuse at New Jersey juvenile facilities.
If you or a loved one experienced abuse at Costello Prep, you have rights and options, including filing a police report to launch a potential criminal investigation into individual perpetrators. You may also have the ability to file a civil lawsuit to hold the institution accountable and receive compensation for the harm you endured to help pay for medical bills, therapy, and other damages. Even if the abuse happened years ago, it’s not too late to explore your rights and options at Helping Survivors.
