Dr. Oumair Aejaz: Sexual Abuse Allegations
Dr. Oumair Aejaz, age 40, is an internal medicine physician who practiced in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He worked as a contracted doctor in the U.S. on a visa.
He had privileges at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grant Blanc Township, Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Aejaz arrived in the U.S. in 2011. He completed his residency at Detroit Sinai Grace Hospital and then moved to Dawson, Alabama, to practice. He returned to Oakland County, Michigan, in 2018.
In August 2024, authorities charged Oumair Aejaz with the following:
- One count of child sexually abusive activity
- One count of using a computer to create and or reproduce child sexually abusive material
- Two counts of capturing/recording children under the age of 18 while nude
- Two counts of capturing/recording two women over the age of 18 while nude
- Four counts of using a computer to commit a crime
This comes after investigators found sexually explicit videos and images on six computers, four cellular phones, and 15 external storage devices were confiscated—with one device allegedly containing over 13,000 videos.
His wife divorced him in June 2024. She reportedly tipped off law enforcement after discovering the images, triggering the criminal investigation.
The charges stemmed from allegations that he secretly recorded five adults and children using hidden cameras in hospital rooms. Prosecutors claim he even recorded himself sexually assaulting unconscious patients in the hospitals where he worked. Meanwhile, he also allegedly spied on women and children in the changing rooms and bathrooms at the Goldfish Swim School in Rochester, Michigan.
In October 2024, Aejaz was charged with an additional 17 felony charges related to the sexual abuse of a 6-year-old spanning six different dates between 2023 and 2024. Prosecutors file these additional criminal charges against Aejaz:
- Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
- Three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct
- Three counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity
- Three counts of capturing an image of a nude person
- Six counts of using a computer to commit a crime
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department believes there are many more victims they have yet to identify across state lines. The department is asking anyone with information to contact them at OCSOSIU@oakgov.com.

Legal Rights and Options for Patients of Dr. Oumair Aejaz
Given the information provided by law enforcement and the media about Dr. Oumair Aejaz’s alleged criminal activities, many impacted individuals may not know they were sexually assaulted or recorded in intimate areas without their knowledge or consent.
This is why we believe that any person who interacted with Oumair Aejaz could be at risk, especially if they are a woman or a minor, including young children. It is unknown how many victims Oumair Aejaz recorded or sexually abused – but given the vast amount of alleged recordings on his devices, there could be hundreds.
If you believe you might have been victimized by Aejaz, whether as a patient or through some other contact with him at a place where he could have placed hidden cameras, speak to law enforcement as soon as possible.
You have the right to report the possible abuse to law enforcement. You might have other options available as well, including reporting him to the medical board and filing a sexual abuse lawsuit against Aejaz and any relevant third parties.
Report Sexual Abuse by Dr. Aejaz to Law Enforcement
Investigators believe there could be potentially hundreds of unidentified victims of Oumair Aejaz’s alleged physical and digital sexual abuse, not only in Michigan but in other states where he worked and lived, including Alabama.
If you or a loved one may have been victimized by Aejaz, contact law enforcement at OCSOSIU@oakgov.com.
Law enforcement officers have obtained thousands of images and videos and have determined numerous victims have been impacted. However, they have not determined all the victims’ identities. By coming forward and speaking to law enforcement, they may be able to trace the illegal and abusive imagery and videos found on his devices to you or your child.
Given that it is alleged that Aejaz sexually abused patients while they were asleep or under anesthesia, many impacted individuals may not have any idea they were sexually abused. Aejaz not only allegedly sexually abused adult women but is criminally charged with sexually abusing children as young as two years old.
In many cases of doctor sexual assault, patients are aware of the conduct but do not recognize it is abusive due to their inherent trust in medical professionals and lack of knowledge about medical procedures. In Aejaz’s case, the majority of his victims are not even aware of the conduct.
Once you contact law enforcement, they will likely ask you to come in for an interview or speak to you over the phone. If they need additional information, they will contact you. If you are identified as a victim of Aejaz, you may be asked to testify at a criminal trial. However, it is unknown at this time whether this case will go to trial.
The prosecutor in the case against Aejaz will walk you through the process and ensure you are informed of their needs and the process as the case progresses.
Report Sexual Abuse by Dr. Aejaz to Michigan State Medical Board & Hospitals
It is currently unknown if anyone ever reported Dr. Aejaz’s conduct to his employers, the hospitals where he had privileges, or the Michigan Board of Medicine while he was practicing medicine.
However, in many doctor sexual abuse cases, it is later reported that employers, co-workers, hospital management, or medical licensing boards received reports of medical sexual abuse from patients but did not investigate these claims.
While Aejaz is currently in jail on a $2 million bond, you may still want to report any known abuse by Aejaz to his employers, hospitals, and the Michigan state licensing board.
Reporting can create a valuable paper trail to document the abuse and provide notice to these organizations. If you have not filed a report with these organizations yet, we recommend speaking to an experienced doctor sexual abuse lawyer who can protect your rights during the process.

File Doctor Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Dr. Aejaz
You might be entitled to pursue a civil lawsuit if you were sexually abused by Dr. Aejaz, even if you are unaware of it during your time under his care. It is alleged that Dr. Aejaz secretly recorded patients and abused them while they were conscious, leaving many victims unaware of what occurred.
Additionally, it is believed that Dr. Aejaz also sexually abused young children, including those under his medical care.
Furthermore, if you or your child attended the Goldfish Swim School in Rochester, Michigan, you might be eligible to file suit against Aejaz and any other potentially responsible parties.
A civil lawsuit enables sexual abuse survivors to seek financial compensation for their harm. In a lawsuit, you can seek compensation for your medical expenses, lost income, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional distress, among other damages. A settlement or award may help you get the medical care and mental health support you need to move on with your life. Additionally, a civil lawsuit can help prevent future harm and hold those responsible for the harm accountable, including any institutions that enabled the abuse, such as the hospitals where the abuser worked. It might also encourage other victims to come forward.
Two young women who were employed at Goldfish Swim School, where Dr. Aejaz allegedly unknowingly recorded videos of women and children changing, have already filed a lawsuit against Aejaz and the swim school after discovering through law enforcement they were secretly recorded while changing.
These women filed the lawsuit against Aejaz and the swim school “under seal” as Jane Does to protect their identities. You may also be eligible to file a lawsuit under seal.

How a Lawyer Can Help Impacted Dr. Oumair Aejaz Patients
Finding a trustworthy attorney and sharing your experience can be daunting and overwhelming. While dozens of lawyers are exploring civil claims against Aejaz and his employers, they may not have your best interests at heart or the experience you need for such complex cases.
It’s important to ensure that the lawyer you choose understands how to navigate complex legal cases while remaining survivor-focused and empathetic, especially if you’re still processing what happened to you.
In Michigan, an adult has 10 years to file a civil suit for sexual abuse. Meanwhile, child sexual abuse victims have until their 28th birthday to file a lawsuit. While Michigan’s civil statute of limitations gives more time than most states for individuals to file a lawsuit, the sooner you speak to a lawyer, especially given the ongoing investigations into Aejaz and his employers, the better.
Even if you are unsure if this is a step you want to take, we recommend contacting us to better understand what this process entails and the potential outcomes.
An experienced attorney can assist you beyond just filing a civil lawsuit against Aejaz and any other responsible parties. They can also do the following:
- Investigate and gather evidence of the assault
- Draft and file a complaint with the medical board
- Report the incident to law enforcement if it hasn’t been done yet
- Draft and file a civil lawsuit, including filing under seal if so desired
- Conduct discovery and litigate your case
- Handle all communications with the opposition and the court
- Negotiate a settlement
- Represent you in all court appearances related to the case
- Try your case if necessary
The opposition will likely do everything possible to fight your case. Thus, choosing the wrong lawyer can be detrimental to your case. They may lack the expertise needed to fiercely advocate for your interests. Doctor sexual abuse litigation is complex and requires experienced attorneys with deep knowledge of the law and defense tactics.
