Video Transcript

Dr. Christopher Davis, a Pennsylvania physician and former medical director at the Pyramid Healthcare York Methadone Treatment Center, is now facing allegations of sexual abuse, coercion, and misconduct involving vulnerable patients seeking treatment for opioid addiction. According to lawsuits and investigations, Dr. Davis allegedly used his position as a gatekeeper to methadone, an essential medication for opioid use disorder to exploit patients who depend on that medication for care.Survivors say they were pressured into sexual acts, unwanted contact, and humiliating demands under fear that their lifesaving treatment would be withheld.

In April 2025, Pennsylvania’s attorney general announced 92 felony charges against Dr. Davis, including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, sexual extortion, and other serious offenses. Dr. Davis was suspended from Pyramid in January 2024 when the investigation began, and he was terminated the following month. As of early 2026, he is out on bonds and awaiting trial. Beyond the criminal cases, at least 15 former patients have filed civil lawsuits against Dr. Davis and his practice. Some lawsuits also name Pyramid Healthcare and CVS Pharmacy alleging institutional negligence, including failures to screen, supervise, and respond to warning signs.
