Sanford Pastor Yersson Solarte Arrested Following Allegations of Sexual Abuse at Ipul Pentecostal Church

Yersson Solarte Sex Abuse Allegations

A Sanford pastor, Yersson Solarte, has been arrested in connection with disturbing allegations of sexual abuse involving two underage girls at Ipul Pentecostal Church in Sanford, Florida. While Solarte has not been charged yet, he faces accusations of inappropriately touching the victims and sexually assaulting one of them during church events.

Investigation into Yersson Solarte's Alleged Misconduct

The investigation into Solarte’s actions began on April 10, 2025, when Sanford Police received a report of sexual misconduct involving two juvenile church members. The victims, both regular attendees at the church, allegedly endured the abuse on church property. According to police reports, Solarte attempted to form an inappropriate relationship with the victims and sexually assaulted one of them.

Solarte, who was serving as the pastor at Ipul Pentecostal Church, was arrested on May 7, 2025, by members of the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia, and was later transported back to Florida. He now faces charges related to sexual battery of a minor and lewd and lascivious molestation.

Police Call for Additional Information into Solarte

Though Solarte is in custody, the Sanford Police Department believes there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Authorities are urging anyone with information about similar incidents to contact the police immediately. If you or someone you know was affected by Solarte’s alleged actions or has witnessed inappropriate behavior involving him or other church leaders, it is crucial to come forward and help bring clarity to the investigation.

Legal Options for Survivors of Clergy Abuse

Survivors of sexual abuse by religious leaders often experience immense emotional and psychological trauma. The legal process can be daunting, but understanding your rights is the first step toward seeking justice and healing. At Helping Survivors, our team of sexual abuse attorneys can help explain the legal options available for survivors of abuse by clergy.

Survivors can file a civil lawsuit against the perpetrator and, in some cases, the church itself. Florida law provides a path for victims to seek compensation for medical expenses, therapy, lost wages, and pain and suffering. However, time is of the essence due to statutes of limitations, though recent changes in the law have extended the time survivors have to come forward.
