Doctor Triggers New Lawsuits Against Henry Ford Health System for Alleged Sexual Assault

A doctor at the center of a widespread sexual abuse scandal involving both children and adults is continuing to cause significant legal challenges for Henry Ford Health System. This includes the filing of three new lawsuits, one of which seeks $100 million in damages. The new cases bring to light horrifying allegations of sexual abuse, with the latest plaintiffs asserting they were secretly videotaped and subjected to abuse by former physician Dr. Oumair Aejaz.

The Disturbing Allegations Against Dr. Oumair Aejaz

Dr. Oumair Aejaz, a former physician at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, has already pleaded guilty to a range of charges stemming from his disturbing actions. He admitted to molesting a child and secretly recording his abuse of patients, including both children and adults, in various locations like hospital rooms and even private bedrooms. Prosecutors claim he also filmed himself sexually assaulting unconscious patients, some of whom were unaware of the invasive procedures being performed.

The latest lawsuits, filed on October 27, 2025, involve three women who were allegedly videotaped without their consent during intimate medical exams and procedures. One woman, who was undergoing a pelvic exam, discovered after the fact that the doctor had been filming her without her knowledge. These horrifying experiences, coupled with the revelation of these hidden recordings, have left victims reeling as they confront the extent of their trauma.

Lawsuits Outline Grievous Violations of Patient Trust

The new lawsuits are being filed by three women, all residents of Macomb County, Michigan, who claim they were victims of Dr. Aejaz’s abuse while receiving medical care at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. One of the lawsuits, filed by a 40-year-old Utica woman, details multiple incidents where she alleges Dr. Aejaz sexually assaulted her while alone with her in a hospital room. She claims that he recorded these assaults using hidden cameras and devices that were later discovered by law enforcement. This woman’s lawsuit is seeking at least $100 million in damages.

Two other women from Sterling Heights have also come forward with their own claims, including one who alleges she was molested during a treatment for blurry vision and chronic headaches. The second woman alleges similar violations during a visit for heart issues. In all three cases, the women assert that they were filmed by Dr. Aejaz in compromising positions, and their identities were later confirmed in the disturbing footage found by law enforcement.

Henry Ford Health System Faces Scrutiny

As the legal fallout continues, Henry Ford Health System is facing increasing scrutiny. The health system, which has been the subject of a class-action lawsuit involving similar allegations of sexual abuse by Dr. Aejaz, has yet to comment extensively on the new lawsuits. In a statement issued on October 27, the hospital group expressed its commitment to patient safety but declined to discuss the pending litigation in detail.

However, the lawsuits allege that Henry Ford Health System failed to adequately respond to numerous complaints regarding Dr. Aejaz’s inappropriate behavior. These new lawsuits suggest that the health system may have had knowledge of his conduct but failed to take sufficient action to protect patients.

Law Enforcement’s Role in Uncovering the Abuses

The investigation into Dr. Aejaz’s actions began in August 2024 when his wife reported him to authorities after discovering he had been secretly recording their children, female relatives, and even individuals at the Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills. The investigation, which involved the seizure of numerous electronic devices, revealed a staggering number of videos, many of which documented Aejaz’s illegal and abusive actions.

Authorities estimate there could be hundreds of victims, and the ongoing investigation is continuing to uncover the full extent of Dr. Aejaz’s crimes. Aejaz, who faces a potential life sentence for his actions, is set to be sentenced on December 2, 2025, where he will face a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.
