Fifteen former patients of Dr. Christopher Davis, a Pennsylvania physician, have filed a lawsuit against the doctor and his practice, alleging that Davis sexually abused them under threat of withholding critical treatment for opioid addiction. The lawsuit, filed in November, alleges that the victims endured years of sexual abuse, coercion, and medical misconduct while under Davis’ care. Additionally, Davis is facing nearly 100 felony charges for the alleged abuse.

Who Is Dr. Christopher Davis?

York County, PA, physician Dr. Christopher Davis is facing rape charges and lawsuits from at least 15 patients over alleged misconduct at the Pyramid Healthcare York Methadone Treatment Center in Springettsbury Township. Investigators with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office say Davis withheld treatment from drug-addicted female patients who refused his sexual advances. Methadone is a crucial treatment for opioid use disorder.

Davis was suspended from his role as medical director at Pyramid in January 2024 when the investigation began, and was officially terminated from his position in February 2024.

Davis’ medical license has not yet been suspended over the alleged abuse. However, the Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine previously suspended his license in 2004 and added two years of probation following a separate investigation into a death at Manor Care in York. Court records show Davis told a nurse he was a ventriloquist and manipulated the jaw of a deceased patient as if they were speaking.

Around the same time, Davis was also criminally convicted for stealing a controlled substance from a former employer. The state reactivated his license on a probationary status in 2006 and then reinstated it in full in 2008.

The Criminal Charges Against Dr. Christopher Davis

In April 2025, Pennsylvania Attorney General David Sunday announced 92 felony charges against Dr. Christopher Davis for allegedly soliciting lewd photographs from methadone patients and coercing them to perform sexual acts in exchange for access to drug treatment medications.

“This doctor abused his role as a gatekeeper to necessary medications for vulnerable patients by manipulating, intimidating, and assaulting numerous patients between 2022 and 2024,” Attorney General Sunday said.

During the investigation, three women testified to a grand jury about having sexual relationships with Davis from 2021 to 2024, while one other alleged he had touched her inappropriately and tried to pursue a relationship with her. All four feared he would hold their methadone hostage unless they complied with his sexual demands, as he had sole control over their access to the substance.

Davis was arrested for offenses including rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, sexual extortion, and more. His bail was set at $1 million, and he is out on bond. As of December 2025, Davis is awaiting trial. A pretrial conference scheduled for October was canceled.

Treatment Center’s Negligence and Misconduct

Pyramid Healthcare and CVS Pharmacy have also been named as defendants in lawsuits against Davis. According to those lawsuits, Davis has a history of misconduct, and victims say Pyramid should face consequences for either ignoring Davis’ history or failing to conduct an adequate background check.

Survivors also say CVS should face repercussions for negligence in dispensing prescriptions. The victims assert that despite excessive drug dosages, dangerous drug combinations, and other red flags, the pharmacy continued to fill prescriptions for Davis. According to court documents, Davis encouraged women in his care to drink alcohol, use fentanyl, and use anxiety medication while on a methadone regimen, despite the danger of mixing substances.
