A report from an underage teen about sexual abuse has uncovered a disturbing human trafficking operation in Brevard County. Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced on April 20 that a 26-year-old man, Antonio Gilbert Granados, and a Brevard County corrections officer, Dashawn Willie Edward, have been arrested in connection to an investigation into the teen’s abuse.
Granados, who met the teen on Snapchat nearly two years ago, manipulated and trafficked her to nearly 50 clients over a two-year period. The abuse was captured on video, and Granados threatened to release the footage if the teen did not comply with his demands.
Sheriff Ivey called the operation “unimaginable,” describing the emotional and physical torment the teen suffered at the hands of Granados and other individuals. As the investigation continues, more arrests may follow.
The Arrests and the Investigation
Granados was arrested on charges of human trafficking, promotion of sexual performance by a child, and possession of child sexual abuse material. The investigation also led to the arrest of Brevard County corrections officer Dashawn Willie Edward, 36, who was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Edward, who had worked for the department for 10 years, was immediately terminated from his position.
Authorities have now identified at least 49 other men who were seen in the video evidence. These men are also being pursued as part of the ongoing investigation.
How the Investigation Came Together
The case began on April 2, 2026, when the teen’s mother contacted a school resource officer, revealing that her daughter had disclosed details about being sexually assaulted. The teen eventually identified Granados as her trafficker, and investigators worked to find him.
Granados had kept constant surveillance on the teen, even livestreaming her interactions with clients. In a final attempt to avoid arrest, Granados attempted to overdose but was found by deputies and hospitalized before being booked into jail.
As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to bring justice to the victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse. Sheriff Ivey urged the men seen in the videos to come forward before law enforcement finds them.
