This is Melissa Reitberg and I’m an attorney at Meirowitz and Wasserberg. I’m going to talk to you about some of the steps you can take in the unfortunate event that you are sexually assaulted while using a Rideshare app. The first thing you should do is protect yourself. Make sure that you’re in a safe location. For example, if you were dropped off at home, lock all your windows and doors and get away from them. The next thing you should do is to report the issue in the Rideshare app. Both Uber and Lyft allow you to report the driver for sexual assault. Do that. The next thing you can do is call your local police department and write a report. Now you can see the report and you can make amendments. If it doesn’t tell the full story. The next thing you should do is contact us. All of these steps, act to build your case. If you’re not sure you have one, talk to an attorney.
